AttractionsReporter - tour booking system

Attractionsreporter is a new project that we developed and it was launched several days ago. It’s an online service, which makes process of discovering and booking of attractions more human and personal. Users have the option of whatching a short clip of what to expect from the attraction, and book it in a hassle free way.

Attractionsreporter is also a B2B platform in tourism industry. Various attraction suppliers can register in the system, sell tickets online both through the website and through  custom booking pages, manage their bookings, offers, prices, etc.

What’s up in June-July 2010 (monthly report #4)

I just realized that I missed our monthly work report in June and now it’s already the end of July! So I decided to write about what we have been doing here at Inspirativ in June and July.

At present moment our clients from Cegomedia are actively adding thousands of watches into catalogs for future online shops. On our end we’re finishing main features for the shops and the first shop will be released within a couple of weeks.

On the 23d June we launched our own niche startup, which is a service for photographers (now only for the Russian market): gophotoweb.ru We started some marketing activities, already have several new clients and very good feedback. We are planning to expand and improve the service, as there’s big demad for quality and stylish websites for photographers.

No doubt, the main event in July for us was the launch of geckoboard.com web application for closed beta testing. Around 800 people tried Geckoboard withing the first week. Now we are working on new features based on user’s feedback.

In the end of June we started working on a new project called «Tight Bod with a Pod»: http://blog.tightbodwithapod.com/
We will be releasing some new functionality features for TbwaP pretty soon.

We also finished russian version and online shop for www.stadlerform.ch, but they are in the process of entering information and website is not launched yet.

Hopefully we will finish everything what is planned for August and even have some time for vacations, stay tuned =)

What’s up in March? (Monthly report #1)

March 2010 has been very productive in projects and new clients. Here is something that we would like to share with you:

1. We finished most of the functionality for the e-mail marketing system which we started in the beginning of February. Our task was to add custom functionality for one of leading e-mail marketing systems in the world. This project will be described in details among our other projects soon.

2. Our Ruby on Rails team delivered very interesting and challenging part of work on tinymassive.com project and achieved very good results. We introduced new deploy process with Integrity, solved existing functionality errors, fixed performance issues, optimized comparison engine and migrated project to ROR 2.3.5

3. Unfortunately we had to delay launch of gophotoweb.com due to high work load with other projects. But from the other hand in March we had a chance to try Gophotoweb CMS and develop two websites for photographers based on it. And we also prepared quite informative demo of the system. We will do our best to launch asap!

4. At the last days of March we started programming of one interesting e-commerce project for Cegomedia. It will be a very special e-commerce system with several web shops, which will be released in September 2010.

5. The last thing, which we would like to share, is that we were selected for the development of one prospective UK startup. We will start in the second half of April and we are very excited about it. Details will be available only after completion, so stay tuned =)

Experience with Pivotal Tracker and story-based planning (part 1)

First we heard about Pivotal Tracker (PT) around a year ago. We had a positive experience using Goplanapp.com for several projects before, but unfortunately we couldn’t wait till version 2.0. And the Goplanapp 1.0 version did not meet our requirements for project management. We also tried to use Basecamp, but Basecamp appeared to be very good for collaboration but not for project development process.
